If a Brake system is contaminated is it common for just one brake to lock up ?
My 01 dodge dakota's passenger front brake locked up and the dealership said the system is contaminated and they say i have to replace the whole brake system 3200 dollars ,i think im being scammed because i didnt buy the vehicle from dodge somebody help
You're getting scammed!
If there is contamination in your lines, any good brake shop can flush the lines, and the MOST common cause of a front brake locking up is ...
1 - Caliper frozen from mechanical failure. It happens.
2 - severe warping of rotor, leading to caliper binding.
Your brake system is sealed, and it just doesn't get 'contaminated' to any degree that will cause a caliper to lock up.
Go to a local brake shop, and expect 300 to 500 dollars at most.
