Cargo Charter Flights Eastern & Central Africa Including South Sudan & Somalia

Due to political instability especially in war torn countries in horn of Africa it was important that humanitarian and relief supplies be provided to the people in terms of medicine,food,clothes,hardware,building materials, education materials and personnel like doctors,teachers,tailors,plumbers,electricians,consultants,engineers and many others. In 1990 it was not easy to transport these products by either road or air due to the fact that there were poor road infrastructure and insecurity making it dangerous and air transport was very expensive and the aircrafts were scarce and no matter how many people or cargo you had the solution was to charter the entire aircraft. All Flights to these war torn countries depart from Kenya at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport or Wilson Airport as most of the Non-Governmental organizations and United Nations have their regional offices in Kenya Nairobi and also the convenience as Port of Mombassa is the hub of Eastern & Central Africa.

Consolidated Cargo Flights to South Sudan

But as time went by many businessmen/women realized the need of more players in the matter and indeed it assisted as scheduled flights were first introduced on Nairobi-Lokichogio route for both cargo and passengers and you it could be easier for the connection from Lokichogio to South Sudan. This opened up the air transport and the CPA which was signed by the Northerners & Southerners in Sudan paved way for entry into Sudan as Juba was made the Capital City of South Sudan Government after 21 years of civil war. Firms like banks, insurance companies, construction & building companies,consultants,air charter ,Transporters, manufacturers entered into Juba and opened offices there to facilitate their operations and cut down on some of the costs of having to flying /drive to and fro Lokichogio which made it expensive to do business. There several airlines operating daily scheduled flights to Juba and consolidated cargo flights twice per week to Juba and Rumbek thus making life for doing business easier and quicker. When you have less cargo you can book the space ranging from 200 kilos upto 15 tones on per kilo basis and if you have 5,10,15 tones you can charter a freighter aircraft to airlift you cargo to South Sudan especially when it is bulky but unbulky you can book on scheduled flights. If you make an advance booking you can be able to airlift 2 tones per day to Juba, one tone in the morning and the other in the afternoon. The aircrafts used for cargo are DC-9 Freighter 10 toner, F27-300 Freighter 15 toner, Fokker 27-500 5 toner, H748 5 toner, LET 410 1.5 toner and C-208 Caravan 1 toner.

When arriving Juba you either take private charter or scheduled flight to your destination and not like before you were to request for a charter flight from Nairobi, Lokichogio or Gulu, Entebbe in Uganda which was very expensive as you were to pay for positioning and reposition costs. Just to mention some of the destination in South Sudan where private charter flights and scheduled operate,Yei,Rumbek,Wau,Bentiu,Yambio,Torit,Akobo,Panyakol,Malkal,Ayot,Awei and many other destination as they are many.

Cargo Charter Flights to Somalia

This is one of the most unstable countries within horn of Africa politically, socially, economically and many innocent people, children are suffering due to this. This has forced even Africa Union to send troops to Mogadishu its capital for peace keeping. Also international community including European Union, United Nations WFP,United Nations Unicef,UNDP,UNESCO,UN HABITAT and Non-Governmental organizations like Save The Children UK,COSV,CESVI,WORLD VISION,PSF,CONCERN WORLDWIDE,MSF HOLLAND,MSF FRANCE,MSF BELGIUM,VSF SUIZE,VSF GERMAN and others have provide medicine ,food,clothes,hardware,education materials, personnel to ensure the Somali people live like any other human being. Besides that they are organizing dialogue and reconciliation programs to ensure the government and the opposing groups sit and talk and understand the need of peace in a country. These organizations spend billions of dollars in ensuring that no one suffers. Most of their expenditure is spend on aircrafts hire as they have to airlift most of the humanitarian and relief supplies. At times they need to evacuate their personnel due to insecurity and equipment and they have to use private charters. Giant organizations like World Food Programme, UNICEF, European Union, and ICRC have leased aircrafts and incase of emergencies they need not to worry as the aircrafts are at their disposal.

You can only get a scheduled flight to Mogadishu International and Hargesia 2 flights weekly and you need to do an advance booking as the flights are on high demand. When you want to take cargo to Belletuen,Bosaso,Galgayo,Baidoa,Bardera,Baidoa,Berbera,Kismayu, you have to charter the 5 toner or 15 toner aircraft while some destinations like Marere,Afmadow,Jamame,Dinsor,Wajid you can only use aircrafts with short take off and landing performance like DHC-8 Buffalo 5 toner, LET 410 1.5 toner,C-208 Caravan 1 toner,C-130 15 toner. These can be cargo or passenger flights so if you have the need for both you will still be served.

Cargo Flights to DR Congo.

This is one of the richest country in Eastern and Central Africa in mineral and it is political unstable .There United Nations and other International organizations operating there to ensure the people get the essential services and trying to bring the country to peace through dialogue and negotiations.

Cargo flights are vital as the people need medicine, textile, education materials, personnel who need to be airlifted as traveling by road is unsafe. There 5 flights weekly to Lubumbashi and Kinshasa and twice weekly to Goma.

One can decide to take cargo by scheduled flights but that will be in small quantity of not more than 2 tones if booked in advance on per kilo basis. Private cargo charter flights are available for 5,10,15,45 tones for bulky cargo .Dangerous Goods can not be accepted on commercial flights as there are passengers and it is against ICAO regulations carrying them on passenger flight. There cargo aircrafts that you can charter from Lubumbashi/Kinshasa to Mbuji Mayi/Goma/Benin and other areas. If you are in Uganda you can charter a cargo flight to destination in DR Congo as they are aircrafts avaible for both cargo and passengers at Kampala/Entebbe/Gulu/Soroti airports.

Cargo Flights Into/Out of Tanzania.

There is a lot of demand for cargo flights to Mwanza in Tanzania to the mining sites of Geita, Mara North and for fish.

Since the Port of Mombassa in Kenya is the hub all the mining equipments are there and they are taken by road to Jomo Kenyatta Airport for private charter to Mwanza.Some of the equipments arrive on Cargo flights from other countries and are on transit at Jomo Kenyatta Airport to Mwanza.

The DC-9 Freighter 10 tonner, B737-300 Freighter 15 toner, HS748 5 toner, LET 410 1.5 toner are available to airlift these mining equipments at short notice. Also for frozen fish from Mwanza to London, United Arab Emirates you can charter the B737-300 Freighter out of Nairobi, Kenya.

For unbulky cargo there daily flights to Zanzibar, Kilimanjaro, Daresaalam and you can book on per kilo basis but only 1000 kilos per flight if booked in advance not last minute.
