Roll Up Way Covers
We have supplied a lot of roll up way covers to many customers, however, there is still a lot of confusion of what these industrial safety device is actually do. We hope this article clears up their uses and functions.
What is a Roll Up Way Cover?
A Roll Up Way Cover is a safety device which is used to protect operators from flying debris or to protect operators from dangerous pinch points. The device consists of a curtain which is constructed from vinyl for most applications and Kevlar for situations where there is a significant amount of heat present.
Also integrated into the device is a roller mechanism which has a spring assembly. This spring assembly keeps the cover from sagging. So as the curtain is extended, the tension from the roller assembly keeps the role up way to cover straight and inline with its direction of travel.
Also included are several mounting points which are located on the roller and at the end of the curtain material. You connect the roller at one end of the opening, and then you connect the end of the roller material at the opposite end of the opening.
Common Uses
As mentioned above, the most common application for these roll up way covers is to provide protection from flying debris or to protect someone from dangerous moving parts. Given the nature of its flexibility, this way cover can be used almost anywhere. We see a lot of them being installed on CNC machines, lift tables, milling machines, and a host of other machines which present dangerous working conditions.
