i have a 1999 Yamaha blaster is larger the carb better? If not what size should i get for racing?
do i have to change anything else if i get a larger carb
anyone know how much it would be to have someone install it?
i have a full DG pipe, boyenson reeds, and will be putting a precharger on it soon. you can run the air box lid off when u have a precharger right?
First....good advice..If it ain't broke..don't fix it..
having said that....all engines are air pumps....more air in & out means more power..
This is of course is as long as the air/ fuel mixture is correct..
so bigger throat to the carb will allow more air in...((as long as the valves are opening far enough not to restrict air flow)
& the exaughst isnt restricting the escape of spent gas...)
getting the mixture correct is a matter of changing jets in the carby...
& the air filter you have on should not restrict the air flow either..
all this is not difficult if you are able to do it yourself..but getting it right can be a trial & error thing......how many sets of jets/ air filters/carbies...do you want to buy???
how much time are you willing to spend on it???
where is the nearest DYNO tune...
If someone has already done it to theres..& they give you the info it would be a fairly cheap & easy exercise...otherwise...you would be guessing...but you may just be lucky & get it right straight away...
I think small changes would be the best way to go...better air filter...may be polish the intake & exaughst..better exaughst pipe.....but thats just the way I would go.....
